# Neutralyze vs. PanOxyl (Benzoyl Peroxide)

> Choosing between salicylic + mandelic acid (Neutralyze) and benzoyl peroxide washes like PanOxyl.

PanOxyl washes use **benzoyl peroxide** (commonly 4% or 10%), which kills acne bacteria effectively but is known for dryness, irritation for some users, and bleaching towels, pillowcases, and clothing.

Neutralyze is **benzoyl peroxide-free**, built on 2% salicylic + 1% mandelic acid:
