PanOxyl washes use benzoyl peroxide (commonly 4% or 10%), which kills acne bacteria effectively but is known for dryness, irritation for some users, and bleaching towels, pillowcases, and clothing. Neutralyze is benzoyl peroxide-free, built on 2% salicylic + 1% mandelic acid: Some people do well combining both mechanisms — if so, use them at opposite times of day and consult a dermatologist.
